but these are them
the moments
the minutes
the secondsthese are the ones i’m talking about
telling you aboutlisten to me
please
just listenand hold on
and take
and keep
and rememberalways remember
that even though it’s not perfect
it’s not pretty
it’s not anything at all
but what you make iteven though it is
all these things
and so much moredepending on time
energy
consumptionlove
no love
heart
no heartit is simply banging on drums
loud noises
pots and pansstrategic movements
and small intervals
that make up the bigger picturethe laugh lines
the loss of hair
the memoriesboxed
unboxed
framed
unframedit just doesn’t matter
let it come
let it sit with youand take it in
take it all in
before they take it from youand the only thing you have to show
is grief
worry
and some ridiculous mantra you learned when you were twentyand beautiful
and perfect
and celebratedfor being twenty
for being beautiful
for being perfectbut for never being
smart
wise
and understatedas in love
as in you
as in silenceas in forever
all things not withstanding
judgement day
life choicesand the knowledge that
you finally let it all go
you finally gave insmiled
and embraced the mess
we calllife.

I like this. Take the good with the bad, but most of all, never forget to live. Perfect.
It’s beautiful in its wisdom. Lovely.
This poem is so nice.
The moments, the minutes. That’s what I embrace because really that’s all any of us ever have. And with life being so short and all, we really ought to appreciate every single moment we have. With a heart full of love, of course.
