i make bread now
there is something so angelic
so perfect about making breadthe craft
the care
the responseto waiting
to sitting
to listeningto yeast
to rise
to movementof simple things
flour
water
saltbut they are essential
a backbone
a flavor enhancera shape
a bodyand yet it changes
it mixes
it moves
and makes everythingcome together
in ways i would of never thought ofthe elegance of perfection
infused with time
energy
and the subtle understandingof what love means
as dough rises
performs
and reconstructsunder new meaning
and new subtitles.

WOW. i love this. love it. beautiful in ways i never thought of–and that is the job of the writer, to make us see things in new ways. well done, thomas michael
this is just another way i’v always seen it.
when baking a cake you see,
all the ingredients if eatten singlarly
are gross and can make you sick.
uncooked egg and extract.
but when mixed and baked in just right
perfection and deliousiness within each bite.
its sorta like life in a way…
@hilaw - thanks sean. you’re wonderful. you always give great feedback. i appreciate it very much. and i am humbled that you think so much of such a small poem. thanks again.
@Rainweaver1314 - it is like life. so many layers and small details that make up the bigger picture when they come together. –thanks for coming by.
Beautiful.
coming from a woman, there is nothing angelic about yeast. but nonetheless wonderful
But, wait, what about the butter?
